In Pakistan burned a teenage girl
In Pakistan arrested more than a dozen people after a teenage girl was tied to a wagon and burned.
Police in Abbottabad in the Northern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan said that the killing was approved by order of the tribal Council. 16-year-old girl allegedly helped a neighbor and her boyfriend to run.
"The order came after the neighbor ran away with her boyfriend April 22," said police officer Khurram Rashid. Rashid said the girl's murder was ordered after tribal Council, when 15 members of a Jirga convened to investigate the escape.
Pair that escaped was traced and is in a safe place, police said. They added that those arrested will be tried as terrorists.
According to the independent Commission for human rights in the country, about 1,100 women were killed by relatives in Pakistan for different kinds of transgressions.
In February, the Director Charmin Obeid-the Reason for this question, "the Girl in the river: the Price of Forgiveness" won the Oscar for best short documentary. "When a woman is killed because she did something without permission, that's no excuse," said Obaid.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif after the film Obaid-the Reason was shown, said: "There's no honor, really can't be anything more humiliating than taking part in the brutal murder and refer to it as honor."
