The prisoners killed 2 officers during the journey to jail
Two inmates who shot two officers on the bus Tuesday morning in Central Georgia, apparently, changed his prison gear on the stolen clothes. The police are looking for 43-year-old Donnie Russell Rowe and 24-year-old Ricky Dubose.
The police said that the suspects rode the bus with the other prisoners. About 6:45 a.m. local time, steam escaped from the back of the bus. Earlier, Rowe and Dobos approached the driver and disarmed officers Christopher Monica and Curtis BYU when the bus was on state route between Fontana and Sparta, said Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills. After the prisoners killed the officer and fled the scene. Investigators are examining footage from cameras on the bus to determine how they got out, and who pulled the trigger, the Sheriff said.
Sills said later that the prisoners were searched a random house, took some food and might have stolen the clothes. The Sheriff said there is no reason to believe that they separated. After Rowe and Dubos jacked up a four-door green Honda Civic 2004 with license number RBJ6601. The driver drove, they drove West to Fontana, said Sills.
62-year-old Monica and 58-year-old bill was carrying prisoners from the state prison in neighboring Hancock County jail in Georgia, which is about 45 miles West of Fontana, said the Commissioner of corrections of Georgia Greg Dozier.
