In Cologne, about 100 people stuck on the cable car (photo)
Dozens of people were left hanging high above the river Rhine, when the wheels of the cable car down from the rail line in Cologne, Germany.
More than 30 booths of the cable car was in operation when the boat crashed into a support post. All the stalls were stopped, were rescued about 100 injured passengers.
"Emergency services were sent to the scene, and shortly after arriving found out that the cable car on the left Bank of the Rhine was cut off the rope," said Christian Henry, a spokesman of the fire Department of Cologne. Dramatic photos from the scene show team members from more than 150 members of the emergency services carrying passengers in a safe place.
Henriette recker, the mayor of Cologne, issued a statement in which he thanked the rescuers for their work. "My thoughts were with children and adults who had bravely and patiently wait for hours until they save," she said.
