Obamas to open White House gates for 2010 Easter Egg Roll
The U.S. first couple Barack and Michelle Obama will on Monday open the White House gates for the 2010 Easter Egg Roll event.
Children and their parents from all over the United States will arrive at the White House South Lawn to roll paschal eggs and listen to fairytales to be told by Harry Potter author Joanne Rowling and actress Reese Witherspoon.
National Football League players will lead children in healthy activities and the DC Youth Orchestra and the United States Marine Corps Band will perform music.
A total of 30,000 tickets are to be distributed through an Internet lottery system, giving families from each American state and D.C. to attend the festivities.
The White House Easter Egg Roll tradition dates back to 1878.
