LCD Soundsystem are quitting music
Mainman James Murphy has previously said the band`s forthcoming third album, `This is Happening`, is likely to be their last, and has clarified this is because the way he is used to presenting music is becoming outdated.
When asked what he thought the future holds in the album format, James replied: "Nothing. It`s over. That`s one of the primary reasons I?m out of here. It?s not necessarily a bad thing for me because I`m 40 years old and I make albums.
"I`m an oldish dude with a much older music sensibility. I was already anachronistic when I was 30, now I?m just laughable."
The `Drunk Girls` hitmaker also said he felt "almost everyone" is the enemy of music in the modern day, and railed against the idea that riches come with success.
He added to NME magazine: "Why do we assume that bands are supposed to get rich? Plumbers don`t get rich, why do bands have to get rich? I made music my entire life and it did nothing but cost me money my entire life.
"But I did it because it`s what I cared about and it made me happy."
