James Van Der Beek is to be a father for the first time
The 33-year-old actor announced his girlfriend Kimberly Brook was expecting the couple`s first child on his Twitter page last night. James, who shot to fame playing the title character on TV show Dawson`s Creek, and Kimberly have been dating for eight months, and are both thrilled with the news.
"Yes, it`s true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child," James wrote. "Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed."
James` representative has also confirmed Kimberly is pregnant.
James and Kimberly started dating last July, just three months after the actor separated from his wife Heather McComb, after six years of marriage.
James filed for divorce last November, and his union to Heather is expected to be legally dissolved in the next few weeks.
