The IMF explained why we need to raise gas prices for Ukrainians
The difference in gas prices on the Ukrainian market is the reason for bribery and wasteful consumption, for this reason they ought to increase. About it in interview "to modern times" said the IMF resident representative in Ukraine Jost Longman.
According to the messenger of the Fund, the fuel price hike will help protect corruption schemes, which consist in the purchase gas price for households with the subsequent resale to companies at a higher price. In addition, according to the IMF resident representative, cheap gas is the best "rich people with big houses" that consumes a lot of fuel.
"The starting point must be a sale of gas at market price to apply additional revenues received from the sale of secured households, to strengthen the system of utility subsidies"
