Estrella Archs has left Emanuel Ungaro
The fashion designer was creative director of the fashion house, but there has been intense speculation about her future there in recent weeks. Last year, her collection with then-artistic advisor Lindsay Lohan was universally panned when it was shown in September. Lindsay did not attend the debut of the label?s Autumn/Winter 10 collection, and later announced she was no longer involved with it.
Ungaro has now confirmed Estrella has quit due to "irreconcilable differences" and will continue developing her own brand.
"Estrella Archs announces that she has left her job as chief designer of Emanuel Ungaro due to irreconcilable differences related to the creative direction of the brand," a spokesperson for the designer confirmed today. "Estrella Archs will continue developing her own brand, established in 2007, and presenting her collections in the Paris Fashion Week."
Last Friday, British designer Giles Deacon was seen meeting with Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah and his management in Paris, sparking rumours he is being lined up as the label?s new creative director.
