Michael Caine is "besotted" with his grandchildren
The 77-year-old actor has two daughters, Dominique, 52, from a previous marriage, and 36-year-old Natasha with his current wife Shakira Baksh. He always wanted to have a son, and was delighted when Natasha gave him two male grandchildren.
He is now a proud grandfather to three tots, a 17-month-old boy, and six-month-old twins. Even though one of the twins is a girl, he loves her just as much as his long hoped-for "sons".
"I never had a son, so when the first little fellow came along I was besotted," Michael laughed. "I`d talk to him constantly but not baby talk, and I`ve got big warm hands so he`d be completely warm and secure.
"Whenever he was crying they`d give him to me and I`d calm him down. It`s been the same with the twins."
Michael was thrilled when Natasha told him she was pregnant and even more excited when she decided to name both of her sons after him. He cried when she told him the news, but wishes she could have given his name to her daughter as well.
"Both of the boys have two middle names - Michael Caine," he explained to Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald. "My daughter said I never had a son, so now I`ve got two. So the oldest one is Taylor Michael Caine Hall, and Miles has the two names, but Alegra, she`s not Alegra Michael Caine!"
