Oasis have been renamed Beady Eye
Singer Liam Gallagher has teamed up with his former Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock for the new group, with the band currently working on new material.
The announcement came via the group?s website, alongside a picture of them writing songs.
"Beady Eye (Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock) are in the studio with Steve Lillywhite, working on their way of looking at the world," a caption read.
The group decided to change their name after Liam?s brother Noel Gallagher quit last year. At the time, Liam said he was unsure whether they would continue as Oasis or come up with a new moniker.
"If we don`t come up with something else by the time we`re ready to release the album it`ll be Oasis," he said. "I`m not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it."
Noel left the band after tensions with his brother became too hard to bear.
