The Austrian Parliament passed a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz
The national Council of Austria (lower house of Parliament) passed a vote of no confidence in the government headed by Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz.
This decision was supported by the Social democratic party of Austria (52 deputies), the Austrian freedom party (51 MP) and the party JETZT (seven members).
Kurtz and the government formally remain in power until then, as long as the Federal leader Alexander van der Bellen won't free them from responsibilities. Then van der Bellino is expected to appoint a new Cabinet.
This is the 1st since 1945 when the country's Parliament ousted the Chancellor.
Question about censure Kurtz raised the opposing political force amid the government fall in the country, which led to the publication of the controversial video by former Vice-Chancellor and head of the Austrian freedom party (fpцІ) of Heinz-Christian strache.
Strache resigned, Kurtz did not want to work in the government coalition with the fpцІ and announced early parliamentary elections. For the posts of retired Ministers from APS Kurtz appointed commissioners of his party and experts, which angered the opposition.
