Italian Prime Minister announced his resignation
The Prime Minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte, speaking in the Senate, said it will submit to the President of the Republic of the petition about the dismissal.
The Prime Minister's statement was broadcast by Italian television channels.
The ruling coalition formed by the "5 star Movement" and the party "League" ceased to exist on 8 August. The then Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the "League" Matteo Salvini informed Conte about serious disagreements with colleagues and asked in a persistent form early holding of early elections.
the reason for the application Salvini was the counting of the votes in the Senate on the issue of construction of speed railway line between Turin and Lyon. The MPs from the "League" voted for the largest infrastructure project together with competent opposition, and rejected negative resolution.
Conte was blamed for the Crisis of political power in Salvini and asked in a persistent form, so he explained to the Italians causes of the government shutdown.
According to the Italian Constitution, the right to dissolve Parliament and call fresh elections belongs to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
