Government forces took control of one of the most powerful hydroelectric power station in Syria
The second largest Syrian hydroelectric power station "tishrin" in the district of Aleppo came under the supervision of the state forces, told reporters the Commissioner of the command of Russian forces in the Syrian Arab Republic Boris Fomichev.
Tishinskaya HPP was built on the Euphrates 90 km from Aleppo about 20 years ago, the Russian and Syrian engineers. During the civil war it was captured by and long controlled the militants*. Currently it supplies electricity to the province of raqqa and Aleppo.
The power of the plant is about 630 MW, it is located on the Euphrates, upstream from the reservoir El-Assad. Monday the Russian military the law enforcement agencies start patrolling the area around this strategically important object.
