Kelsey Grammer getting divorced
Kelsey Grammer is getting divorced from his third wife.
Camille Donatacci, who is a former Playboy model, filed papers yesterday, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair married in 1997 and have children Mason, eight, and five-year-old Jude together. Kelsey has confirmed the news on his Twitter page, asking his fans to respect he needs time to work through the situation.
"Hello everyone thank you for ur support and Yes it`s TRUE Camille and I are Divorcing I ask U 2 respect our privacy in these difficu... (sic)," he wrote.
He later posted a string of messages on the social networking site, asking people not to jump to conclusions about the split. Kelsey, 55, called Camille, 41, a "terrific partner" and said he would always have the utmost respect for her because they have kids together.
He also asked fans to be mindful of their children before writing messages to him about his estranged wife.
"Had some bad news to deal with today. I am hoping that people will be respectful of our privacy during the divorce process. We have issued a statement asking that our children be respected as well. I would like to add that I know people will be tempted to say some mean things. I realise that it is human nature but I ask that you be particularly sensitive to the feelings of my wife," he wrote.
"She has been a terrific partner for many years and should not be treated with any disrespect at this time. Things fell apart between us. That is all. She is still the mother of my children and any disparagement of her will only hurt the children. Camille did not want this but has made a very difficult decision and I respect her for it. I appreciate your kindness for all parties in this matter. Especially for her and the children."
News of the split has shocked many as Kelsey and Camille appeared at the Tony theatre awards together last month. Kelsey has been starring in Broadway production La Cage aux Folles, but is said to have given no indication he has been suffering personal problems.
"I`ve heard nothing about him being moody," a source told the New York Daily News. "He`s having a great time."
Camille is being represented by attorney Neal Hersh. She is seeking physical custody of the children, spousal and child support and a share of the couple`s property.
