Cristiano Ronaldo names baby
Cristiano Ronaldo has named his son after himself, and plans to expand his clothing line to include babywear.
The Portuguese soccer star sensationally announced he had become a father to a baby boy on his Twitter and Facebook accounts over the weekend. He refused to reveal who the mother was, but said he would have sole legal and physical custody of the baby, who was born on June 17.
The sportsman is currently on holiday in America with his girlfriend Irina Shayak - who is not the baby`s mother - and has left his son with his mother and sister in the Algarve.
"The baby is doing very well. We are looking after him while Cristiano is away. He`s called Cristiano just like his dad. Cristiano chose the name but we like it. He looks like his father and like me. He has the same eyes," the soccer player`s sister Katia said. "Some people may think it`s strange but we don`t. We`re very happy with what Cristiano has done."
Cristiano, 25, has a line of clothing called CR7, and has now decided to create some new pieces so he can dress his son in the range.
Since news of the birth became public, there have been reports Cristiano used a surrogate to have the baby. Yesterday, it was alleged he had paid the mystery mother £10 million to buy her silence.
It has been claimed the star visited a fertility clinic in Florida for help, and his mother Dolores has confirmed the baby was born in the States.
New reports suggest Cristiano visited the Mayo Clinic last year. On the first occasion he asked questions, before deciding to go ahead two weeks later. He is said to have cherry-picked an attractive "party girl" to have the child, to ensure his son is good looking.
