British royal family puts photos on the web
More than 600 photographs of the British royal family will be placed on photo-sharing website Flickr, British media said.
A total of 28 sections will cover senior members of the family including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.
The pictures, including those dating from about 1861 of Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert, will be available on a new Buckingham Palace page.
It will also feature intimate family photographs of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, as well those depicting them as babies and children.
Other photographs will show the riyal family during trips, parties, business events. They will also depict famous Victorians such as the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
In 2007, the royal family launched a channel on YouTube, followed in 2009 by the British Monarchy Twitter account.
