Gemma Arterton never expected to get married
The `Tamara Drewe` actress - who tied the knot with Stefano Catelli in June this year - admits she spent so much of her life surrounded by failed relationships, she never dreamed of settling down until meeting the sales manager in a nightclub last year.
She said: "I never thought I`d get married because everybody in my life had been divorced.
"Mum and dad, everybody, especially from the town I grew up in. I never saw successful marriages, so I always thought it was a pointless thing to do. But when I met Stefano, I just understood why you get married. Instantly.
"You become the same thing and you just grow together. I just got it."
The 24-year-old beauty also admits she loves her Italian-born spouse`s humbleness.
She told Britain`s Glamour magazine: "Oh, he is so hot. And he doesn`t even know it, he`s so humble. He`s gorgeous. And I`m pretty chuffed about that."
Discussing the possibility of motherhood and a family with Stefano, she suggests it is on the cards.
She revealed: "I`ve always been a mothering person."
