Hulk Hogan is "recovering smoothly"
The TNA wrestling star - who married girlfriend Jennifer McDaniels last week - is in hospital after a 10-hour operation to fuse his spine on Monday (20.12.10) but is doing well and hoping to leave the facility soon.
He said: "It was a pretty lengthy surgical procedure. Doctors did some fusion work and rebuilding and restructuring of the spine. But he`s recovering smoothly.
"We hope he`ll be able to leave the hospital relatively quickly. He`s always taken very good care of himself and in very good physical shape."
The 57-year-old star - whose real name is Terry Bollea - is due to be assessed by a physical therapist soon and can?t wait to be allowed home.
The source added to RadarOnline.com: "The therapist will get him moving and hopefully back home in a few days. If Terry had his way, he`d go home tomorrow."
Hulk tweeted about his impending operation on Monday.
He wrote: "Going for broke in six hrs.rollin all the marbles,I bet on me..I love all u maniacs! Se all u guys soon (sic)"
In June, the sportsman underwent surgery in June for an old wrestling interview and was hospitalised in September after experiencing unrelated back spasms.
