Quentin Tarantino is working on a spaghetti western
The `Inglourious Basterds` filmmaker will reportedly helm the project, which will star Italian actor Franco Nero alongside Keith Carradine and Treat Williams.
Franco told Movieplayer: "The film will be called `The Angel, The Bad And The Wise` and is a tribute to Sergio Leone. It`s a movie that contains humour, lots of action, but also a great plot.
"We have already been signed by a dozen people who will be part of project. Among the filmmakers involved include Quentin Tarantino, Keith Carradine, Treat Williams, fifteen people in all Americans who want to do this movie and so we are trying to produce it outside of Italy."
Despite Franco`s claims, numerous websites, including Ain`t It Cool News, insist the title he gave is not the correct English version of the film`s name.
Quentin has previously spoken of his dream to make a western.
He said last year: "I would love to make a full-on, no bulls**t western. I`d love to make a romantic comedy and take it out of the ghetto it`s been exiled to."
He has also previously admitted `Inglourious Basterds` was based on a movie from the genre.
He said: "I got it from a 1978 spaghetti western called `Inglourious B*****ds`. It was about a bunch of guys fighting in Germany and were condemned to be court-martialled, when their prison convoy gets attacked by Nazis. They escape, so they have to find a way out. They try and get to Switzerland - a neutral country - but they have to battle their way through Germany first. It`s just a really f**king cool story. It was so cool that I wanted to come up with an equally cool film."
