Putin awards British sailors
President of Russia who negotiates with Tony Blair in London will present medals to British sailors who helped to rescue Russian submariners.
Captain Ian Richards and Royal Navy crew using submersible craft Scorpio participated in rescue of Russian sailors from bathyscaphe AC-28 sunken in Pacific Ocean in August. It is informed that Putin will award British Navy attachй in Moscow Jonathon Holloway with Friendship order. There is also an award for captain of C-17 military-transport plane Kate Hewitt who helped to transfer crew and equipment.
