King Abdullah II of Jordan arrives in Kazakhstan for official visit
ALMATY, November 8 -- King Abdullah II of Jordan has arrived in Kazakhstan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayev and head of the city administration Imangali Tasmagambetov met the king of Jordan in the airport of Almaty.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will hold a meeting with the king of Jordan at the Almaty residence on Tuesday, Itar-Tass learnt at the presidential press service. On the results of talks, the sides are expected to sign a package of bilateral documents on cooperation.
The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on February 8, 1993. In 2003, the trade turnover between the two countries reached the record-high level of 43 million dollars. Over the fist six months of the current year, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Jordan amounted to 8.6 million dollars. Kazakhstan exports grain and ferrous metals to Jordan, and imports ore, chemical products and equipment from it.
