Andie MacDowell cleanses herself by Ayurvedic medicine
The `Four Weddings and a Funeral` star has revealed she uses traditional Indian medicine to beat work-related stress and one of the key aspects of the practice is remaining silent.
Speaking about her beliefs, she said "I`ve been practising Ayurvedic medicine and I`ve read the Bhagavad Gita and Rumi and these are very important.
"I will do simple cleanses and have a day where I`m quiet and don`t talk. I need to have this experience, especially after work has been really intense."
The 53-year-old actress does yoga every day and has credited the meditative discipline for helping her keep an uncluttered mind and for improving her decision making.
In an interview with Yoga magazine, she said: "Yoga`s helped everything. It`s helped my outlook, how I interact with people, it`s made me more conscious, it`s helped me be able to focus, make better decisions, think on my feet. I don`t know what I`d do without it. It`s my sanctuary.
Now Andie has mastered the physical requirements of yoga she is now following the discipline down a "spiritual path".
