Arshavin sent to Arsenal reserve
Andrey Arshavin`s career at Arsenal has taken another blow as coach Arsene Wenger decided to move the Russian from the main team to the reserve grade side.
ґAccording to Metro.co.uk, Wenger is unhappy with the effort Arshavin and two of his other teammates, Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu-Young, give on the training pitch.
The coach believes that practicing with the reservists will help the trio reconsider their attitude and start working harder to be able help the team in the remaining games of the English Premier League.
As for Arshavin, he is also to undergo a number of tests which may affect his future with the London club.
The striker, who used to be the hero of the Gunners` fans, has been a regular on the bench this season, one in which he has scored just two goals and added three more assists.
The 30-year-old may well return to Russia this winter as the transfer window in the country`s football league is open till Friday, February 24.
Rich cats Anzhi Makhachkala, who are now headed by former Russia coach, Guus Hiddink, have recently expressed interest in Arshavin`s services.
Arsenal are currently battling for fourth Champions League spot in English Championship, with the sides being level at 43 points.
