Dev Patel worries about getting erections during his kissing scenes
The 21-year-old actor - who is currently in a relationship with Freida Pinto - gets nervous he won`t be able to control his natural impulses when he has to smooch on set and would be prepared to "punch" himself in the balls to calm his unruly manhood.
Discussing his kiss with `Best Exotic Marigold Hotel` actress Tena Desae, he told BANG Showbiz: "F**k there was a kissing scene in this! There`s just one. We had a nearly sex scene but then that didn`t happen. It`s just, it`s really weird, because you`re so nervous beforehand and you`re like, `S**t what if I get an erection? What do I do? Shall I punch myself in the balls?`
"Then you get on set and it`s just like another stage direction. You just don`t wanna miss the camera! It`s really hard to kiss on camera because you move your head and you are covering her face and it looks weird. It`s very strange."
The British star has been in a relationship with Freida since they both starred together in `Slumdog Millionaire` and he took tips from her to perfect his accent in his new movie, in which he plays a young hotel owner.
He explained: "She helps me in loads of things. Accent is just one of them. I don`t think she`ll be happy! She`s a perfectionist! But then she knows the real deal, that`s why."
