Ricky Martin once cancelled a gig to go on a date
The `Livin La Vida Loca` hitmaker - who has been with partner Carlos Gonzalez Abella for four years - admitted it was very "expensive" to make up an excuse for scrapping the show, but he felt it was worth it at the time.
He said: "I cancelled a show once to be with someone that I loved.
"I had one day. I thought, `You live in another country, I live in another country. This is incredible and I feel amazing.`
"My manager came up with some excuse. It was the most expensive date I`ve ever been on. But hey that was a very beautiful day."
Ricky - who is father to three-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino - shot to fame as a member of boy band Menudo and says life in the group taught him how to be sexy from a very early age.
He told Details magazine: "Being part of a boy band, you`d move your hips and girls would scream. I was only 12 - I was a child.
"There was a guy that was 16. He would shake his hips better than me and he`d get more screams. It was like, `Oh s**t, I`m sexy. But I`m not that sexy.` "
