First congress of European rabbis in Moscow
Under the aegis of head Russian rabbi Berl Lazar a congress of European Rabbi Association with participation of rabbis from Commonwealth of Independent States will take place in Moscow.
As rabbi`s press-service announced, congress will take place in Moscow Jewish Community center in Mariana Rocha.
The aim of forum is to develop general approaches to various problems of Jewish life based on Judaism laws. Particularly, rabbis will discuss questions of marriage, adoption, burial, Saturday laws observance. Global problems and situation at Middle East will not be left aside.
Gift of hand-written Tora roll to synagogue in Marian Rocha is dated to congress opening. Celebrations will take place in new Jewish educational center "Beit-Swidler" and will include festive procession and dances with Tora.
The main work of congress will start on Monday, November 14, at recreation department of Jewish Community Federation in Russia near Moscow and will last for 3 days.
It is expected that a set of legislative initiatives for Jewish communities of Europe will be ratified.
About 200 rabbis from the majority of Jewish countries and also rabbis from Commonwealth will participate in congress.
