Serbian government approves draft resolution on Kosovo
BELGRADE, November 16 - The Serbian government approved and submitted to parliament a draft resolution on the province of Kosovo that is likely to become Belgrade`s position at the upcoming UN talks on the province`s status.
Parliamentary speaker Predrag Markovic said the parliament would consider the government-submitted resolution over the weekend.
The 10-point resolution states that any attempts to divide Serbia by breaking off Kosovo would mean a violation of the rights of the sovereign state of Serbia and Montenegro.
The resolution states that Belgrade intends to find a compromise in defining the future of Kosovo that would satisfy both the European position on the issue and the principles of Serbia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the interests of Serbs and Albanians.
