The Supreme Tribunal of the Russian Federation reduced the term of criminal punishment, former head of Menatep Platon Lebedev to have served and decided to release him from prison, informs "Interfax".
The term Lebedev was reduced to 10 years 6 months and 22 days, former head of Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky term lowered to 10 years and 7 months, informs ITAR-TASS. For both defendants in criminal cases have forsaken the right to rehabilitation, sets RAPSI. However, the Tribunal considered illegal content Lebedev under arrest in 2004-2005 during the investigation and court of first Yukos affair.
In addition, the Presidium of the court refused to send to the revision of verdicts on the cases of the former Trustee of "Yukos" Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev. The Tribunal upheld made earlier about collecting from Khodorkovsky 17.4 billion rubles in unpaid taxes.
"If all procedures will be completed in the foreseeable future, Lebedev may be released already at the present time", - the lawyer said the former management of "Menatep" Vladimir Krasnov. Adherents of defense of Khodorkovsky and Lebedev said that, despite the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme court, the "Yukos affair" is not finished. The lawyers are going to seek a review of all illegal, from their point of view verdicts related to the work of the oil company.
