300 years to Ukrainian borsch
Famous Ukrainian borsch celebrates 300 years. This popular dish can be tasted in numerous world restaurants starting with Paris and ending with Tokyo.
Ukrainian historian Gregory Gordienko considers that the date of borsch`s birth in 1705 when a word "buryak" (Ukrainian name of beet) appeared in literature.
Despite of such honorable age, the united classical recipe of borsch has not been ever created. At present moment Ukrainians can boast with Kiev borsch - "with natural lard", Chernigov borsch - with "Turkish" squash, garlic and beet kvass, Odessa borsch - from goose, Lvov borsch - with fried domestic sausages, Cossack borsch - with apples and dry wine.
