Hurricane damage to be less than 150 milliards dollars
Government expenses on reconstruction of regions damaged by "Rita" and "Catherine" hurricanes amount less than 150 milliards of dollars.
This was said by Congress expert in budget politics. He noticed that total damage of apartments, petroleum refineries and other losses will be from 70 to 130 milliards of dollars which is much less than previous forecasts. 40 milliards of dollars will pay private insurance companies.
Congress doesn?t count 62 milliards of dollars that were already spent on rescue operation in New Orlean after "Catherine" hurricane.
Nevertheless, report of Congress representative is more optimistic than announcements of American financiers who predicted damage of 300 or 400 milliards of dollars. "Hurricane didn?t improve American economics but we will cope with these difficulties".
