"Labourer and kolkhozniza" to move closer to Peace prospect
Sculpture by Vera Mukhina "Labourer and kolkhozniza" will return to its place in front of All-Russian Exhibition Center within a year.
It was informed by official internet-portal of capital construction complex with reference on the director of city architecture, construction, development and reconstruction complex Vladimir Resin.
Vice-mayor in Moscow Government held a meeting on November 24, 2005 and determined concrete terms of work.
Monument of "Labourer and kolkhozniza" will be erected at present place, a little bit closer to Peace prospect.
Monument was created in 1937 for World exhibition in Paris. It was mounted at roof of 35-meter pavilion of USSR. After end of exhibition monument was placed on low pedestal, 10 meters high. The author of sculpture Vera Mukhina considered pedestal very small and called it a "stub".
