Presidential election started in Kazakhstan
On Sunday at 7:00 by local time (4:00 by Moscow time) presidential elections started in Kazakhstan. 597 election centers opened over the country. More than 8 millions of people are registered as electors.
By words of Kazakhstan Central Election Committee chairman Onalsina Zhumabekov, election will be considered valid at any attendance of electors. Voting will finish at 20:00 by local time.
Tentative results of election will be known on December 5 at 10:00. Official results of voting, according to law, will be announced within 7 days after election day.
Kazakhstan Central Election Committee registered 5 candidates for presidential position - the current head of country Nursultan Nazarbaev, the leader of opposition "For fair Kazakhstan" Jarmakhan Tuyakbai, the chairman of ecological association "Tabigat" and the self-promoted candidate Mela Eleusizova, the delegate of lower Chamber of parliament (mazhalis) Erasyl Abylkasymov and the chairman of oppositional party "Ak zhol" Alikhan Baimenov.
