Scientists have found the "Megateplo"
An international team of researchers from Switzerland, the United States, Italy and England found the newest type of the planet "Megateplo". Identified planet is 17 times more massive than Earth, and its diameter is 2.3 times more.
Astrologers have found a massive solid planet with a probe "Kepler" NASA and its structure was studied by the Observatory SuperWASP. The age of the planet Kepler-10C is estimated at 11 billion years. The planet is old, especially in comparison with the Earth.
Open planet dubbed Kepler-10c. It contains iron, silicon and other solid rock. The planet is located at a distance of 360 light years from Earth in the constellation of the Dragon. Kepler-10C makes a full rotation around its star for 45 earth days. Around the same star refers inter alia Kepler-10b, making the full application for 20 hours. Unlike "Megateli"Kepler-10b, probably, consists of liquid iron.
Methodology of discovery by Kepler's not possible to set the texture of the planet. Astrologers can determine the physical size, found the planet, but can't work out whether the planet is solid or not. Building on the diameter of the planet astrologers suggested that revealed another gas planet.
In the Observatory SuperWASP researchers used tools to calculate the mass of the planet. They found that the planet is 17 times heavier than Earth is much more than previously thought. This weight suggests that Kepler-10s should be of solid matter.
Early doctrine meant that the origin of similar planets in the early Universe is impossible. Gravitational attraction attracts huge mass of light helium and hydrogen, which are in excess existed in the young Universe, and emerging planet similar to modern gas giants like Jupiter and Neptune. The conception of solid megaplant needs explanation, but at the moment scientists assume that Kepler-10C may not be the only similar.
The discovery is important even to search for earth-like planets. Now the astrologers can not be eliminated from the scope of its own and old stars. "The discovery of Kepler-10c declares that solid planet could appear much earlier than we had hoped. And if there are stones that means there can live", - cite the words of the researchers on the website of the Harvard-Smithsonian center for astrophysics.
