Gala concert of Moscow Viva opera took place in Athens
The concert "Viva opera" finished celebrations in honor of Olympic fire, which was solemnly given to Turin organization committee at Kallimarmaro stadium in Athens.
President of Greek Olympic committee Minos Kiriaku performed a speech before concert. By his words, all money, collected from ticket sales, will be transferred to children-invalids` rehabilitation fund.
Orchestra of "Viva opera" and group of soloists played arias from "Nabukko" opera by Giuseppe Verdi, "Seville barber" by Joaquin Rossini, "Bohemia" and "Madam Butterfly" by Jacomo Puccini.
Big hall of Athens Palace of music was full and warmly welcomed Russian performers.
Meanwhile, Olympic fire - the hero of the occasion - left Greece on board of Italian military airplane and headed to Rome, where it will be warmly greeted. Relay-race of fire, started on November 27 in ancient Olympia, will end in February in Turin - capital of XX winter Olympic games.
