Owner of ran away elephant caught animal and escaped with it
Animal, owned by Finnish company, broke the cell about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday and ran away.
Incident took place in Vyborgsky district of St. Petersburg.
After police got information about escaped elephant, city services started to think which one is responsible for catch of the animal.
"All services refused to work on the case. In this occasion policemen contacted the person, who informed about elephant`s escape, and sent police detachment to place of occurrence. While police was driving to place, the man telephoned again and informed that has caught the elephant near house 16 on Orbeli street".
"Policemen, arrived to the place, found out that van for elephant transportation had disappeared, - informed official of Interior Affairs administration. - Witnesses of incident reported to police that saw an elephant on street and a man, running after him". Interior Affairs administration of Vyborgsky district search the man, who informed about escaped elephant. Details of accident are being ascertained.
