Putin considers issue of Groznyy rename closed
Vladimir Putin considers issue of Groznyy town rename closed after statement of Ramzan Kadyrov.
"I understand initiative of Chechen delegates. Ahmad Kadyrov contributed much to stabilization of situation in the republic. This man deserves eternal memory", - noted Russian president in interview.
"There are many ways to immortalize memory about Kadyrov. But Ramzan Kadyrov, acting head of government and son of Ahmad-Hadji Kadyrov, expressed his opinion on this account. I consider the issue is closed", - said Putin.
Chechen delegates suggested renaming of capital- Groznyy town - to Ahmad-Kala in honor of dead Chechen president Ahmad Kadyrov on December 14. His son Ramzan Kadyrov didn`t support the idea and suggested to restore Groznyy from ruins in memory of the father. Ramzan has said that Ahmad Kadyrov would never rename the town because Groznyy is closely connected with history for every citizen of the republic.
