Kasyanov not to head Democratic party
At congress of Russian Democratic party chairman of central committee Andrey Bogdanov was elected as the leader of the party. His candidature was supported by 213 delegates of congress. The only rival of Bogdanov - ex-minister of Russia Mikhail Kasyanov - collected only 13 votes.
Congress of Democratic party was held without participation of Kasyanov and his supporters. The latter insist that they were not let inside House of Unions, where delegates had gathered. Kasyanov arranged conference in cinema-concert hall "Izmailovo" and named those, who gathered in House of Unions, imposters.
Commenting words of ex-premier, Bogdanov said: "I think that we will hand all necessary documents about congress to Ministry of Justice next week. Ministry of Justice will determine who is legitimate and who is not".
By Bogdanov`s words, 47 regional organizations were presented at congress, 200 delegates participated in its work. Bogdanov noted that congress is authorized if 45 departments are presented.
"At least 10 political organizations went to meeting with Kasyanov, which takes place in Izmailovo. This is an opinion of minority and being the democratic party we reckon with it", - said Bogdanov.
Ex-premier from his turn informed that about 130 people participated in conference as his supporters. In particular, leader of party "Our Choice" Irina Hakamada and leader of SPS Nikita Belih presented at conference.
Kasyanov promised to pronounce plan of further actions within a week. "We decided not to make rash decisions", - he announced.
