Gas supplies to Moldavia resumed
On January 4 official representative of "Gazprom" Sergey Kupriyanov announced that treaty about Russian gas supplies to Moldavian republic will be signed shortly.
By his words, "negotiations are close to the end and soon the contract will be signed". Kupriyanov emphasized that "at present moment energetic security of Europe is out of danger, gas is supplied regularly".
On January 2 president of Moldavia Vladimir Voronin announced that the country is cut off from Russian gas. "Suggested price of $160 for thousand of cubic meters is not the market one, therefore Moldavia will continue negotiations with Russian suppliers", - said Voronin then. Later Moldova along with Ukraine applied to EU with request to demand freezing of prices on gas from Moscow. But representatives of EU refused to become middlemen in these negotiations.
