Dementeva not to play in final of tennis tournament in Hong Kong
Russian tennis player Elena Dementeva couldn`t reach the final of representative exhibition tournament Watsons Water Champion`s Challenge in Hong Kong, losing in 2 sets to Belgium sportswoman Kim Cloisters, who takes second position in world classification.
Both sets ended with equal score 6:3 in favor of Belgium tennis player, informed the organizers of tournament.
Therefore, the struggle for main prize of Hong Kong tournament will be continued this Saturday between Kim Cloisters and first number in world classification Lindsey Davenport, who easily defeated Venus Williams with score 6:3, 6:1.
For all participants the tournament in Hong Kong became the general rehearsals before Open Australian championship, which starts on January 16.
Russian Elena Dementeva and Chinese Chan Tzu have chances to win main prize in pair tournament, playing against Kim Cloisters and Sania Mirza.
