Zhukovsky remains without water and heat
18 hours after the accident on heating station of near-Moscow Zhukovsky, the town still remains without hot water and heating.
As city administration informed, the incident took place about 15:30 by Moscow time on January 6. At present moment specialists of local heating company "Teplocentral" continue the repair works.
"At present moment the part of broken header pipe, which caused the emergency, is replaced by a new one. Now the air in the heating system must be let out and pressure in pipelines needs to be returned to necessary level", - explained the source.
As a result of the accident, the functioning of all heating boilers was temporarily stopped - the citizens of the town remained without hot water several hours after the incident.
Representatives of city administration planned to resume regular work of heating station by 18:00 of January 6. "But specialists continue the restoration of heat supply till present moment", - informed the city administration.
The Zhukovsky town has a population of about 100 thousands people and is situated 32 km south-east of Moscow. The majority of citizens leave in multi-storied panel houses, which are sensitive to frost or heat. Such houses can sufficiently refrigerate several hours after absence of central heating.
Zhukovsky acquired world fame for achievements in national aviation science and equipment.
