Head of Tumen traffic inspection condemned to 5 years for stolen automobile
Head of traffic inspection of Tumen oblast Igor Kiselev, accused of attempt of stolen automobile legalization, sentenced to 5 years of improsonment in colony of strict regime.
Sentence to Kiselev was pronounced by court of Leninsky district of Tumen. The head of regional traffic inspection was arrested in May of 2005. Office of Public Prosecutor instituted criminal case according to article 285 of Russian Criminal code ("Abuse of authorities") in the view of hiding of BMW X-5 automobile, being in international search, and extortion on issuing of state automobile numbers.
Investigation has proven that Kiselev pandered legalization of stolen foreign automobile, being in international search and driven to Russian from abroad. Automobile - BMW X-5 - was detained at post of traffic inspection in the beginning of 2004 and placed on special parking lot. Kiselev knew that car was stolen but pressed for declaration of car as derelict. Then Kiselev ordered to issue state numbers and to place special signals on car and started to use it as service automobile.
Taking into consideration that Igor Kiselev has 2 under aged children the court condemned general to 5 years of colony of strict regime. Defence of Kiselev intends to dispute the verdict.
