Severe frost approaches Moscow. Cold air masses from polar Ural are to bring low temperatures to the Central region, reported Alexei Lyakhov, the head of meteorological service of Moscow.
Since Monday January 16 the temperature in the capital is to go down considerably. "At night and in the morning the temperature is to constitute - 5 - 7 C, by the evening it is to go down to - 12 C", noted Lyakhov.
On Tuesday the temperature is to go on down. At night the temperature is to constitute - 24C, at the daytime is to be about -20-18C. The same temperatures are expected on Wednesday and Thursday, January 18 and 19"
By Friday the frost is expected to become less severe, - 17 - 12 at night, and -7 - 12 at the daytime. The same temperature is expected on Saturday and Sunday. Little snow is expected in the forthcoming week, not more than 1-2 cm.
According to the provisional data, the last frosty day is to be Epiphany, January 19. beginning from the third decade Western transmission of air masses is to be restored, which is expected to bring Atlantic warmth.
