Emergency Ministry evacuates frozen settlement in Komi
Russian Ministry of Emergency prepares for evacuation of 600 people, including 130 children, from Eletsky settlement in Komi republic.
As representative of Ministry Victor Beltsov informed, boiler-house broke down in the village. After incident the air temperature in houses reduced to -10 Celsius below zero. Meanwhile 30-degree frosts started in Komi.
By Beltsov words, 8 compartment cars and 2 carriages with reserved number of seats will convey people to Vorkuta, situated 52 km north from village. Ministry of Emergency informed that Vorkuta is ready to accommodate villagers and render them necessary assistance.
Beltsov noted that at present moment residents of Eletsky are conveyed to railway station, operative group of Komi Emergency Ministry works on the place.
