Accusation against inspector of Gospozhnadzor brought in Vladivostok
Office of Public Prosecutor of Littoral krai accused senior inspector of Gospozharnadzor Aleksey Lobanov, who checked the office building where 9 people died in fire on January 16, of negligence.
Prosecutor of Littoral krai Alexander Anikin informed during press-conference in Vladivostok that charge against Lobanov was preferred according to article 293, part 3 of Russian Criminal Code (negligence, which led to death of 2 or more people).
Prosecutor noted that Aleksey Lobanov checked the office building, situated on prospect Krasnoe Znamya, 59, for fire safety on July 30, 2004. Inspector revealed significant violations of fire safety rules, including presence of bars on emergency exits. Lobanov indicated the violations but didn`t control their elimination.
9 people burnt and 14 were hospitalized during fire in office building on January 16.
Court decreed to place Aleksey Lobanov under custody.
