Italia offers to Isinbayeva $6 million for citizenship change
Italy has made an attracktive proposal to Russain athlete Elena Isinbayeva. According to the information from National Federation of track and field athletics, Russian pole vault champion will receive $6 million, if she adopt Italian citizenship.
National Federation of track and field athletics is suggested demanding written assurance that in future she is to represent only Russian team.
In case of citizenship change Elena Isinbayeva, who was recognized "the best athlete" of the world and Europe, would must not be participate in competitions for three year. It means, that in 2007 she will not be able to verify her title of the World Champion, and would have to refuse from participation in the Olympic Games-2008 in Beijing.
In November 2005 the athlete left her former coach Eugeny Trofimov, who had discovered the future Russian champion eight years ago. Today her coach is world famous Sergei Bubka, living in Ukraine.
On February 18 Isinbayeva is going to participate in the competition in Birmingham. The competition organizers promise for the new world record $ 30 000.
If Isinbayeva manages to hold a new record , automatically she will bit the record of prize sum, she has earned in competitions in Great Britain. By present time, performing in Britain, Isinbayeva earned $280 thousand
