Chechnya left without gas. Situation turning critical
Situation in schools and patient care institutions in settlements of Chechnya left without gas is turning critical.
"Classes in schools are canceled until Monday, patients in hospitals have been urgently sent home", informed the Republic Government.
Local TV channels are broadcasting an appeal to citizens to save electric energy and avoid additional load.
The hardest situation is in Shalinsky district, where all settlements have lost gas supply. This district Administration Head said to journalists: "We have to close patient care institutions because of absence of heating, including maternity hospital. The most important thing now is to keep the system from frozing".
"Gas-works specialist are promising to complete repairing by the evening, but if the system does not operate in 24 hours, there may be critical consequences", noted he.
