Fire in apartment house in Moscow - 7 people died
The fire in apartment house in eastern district of Moscow is extinguished; the number of dead has reached 7 people.
As press-service head of state fire prevention administration of Russian Emergency Ministry over Moscow Evgeniy Bobylev has informed, the fire in 9-storied apartment house on Kamchatsky street started at 3:53 by Moscow time, it was localized as 5:27.
The cause of the fire became the defective radiator. "The owner of 2-room apartment on first floor used defective electric radiator for heating of the flat. When the device started to spark, she ran to the street leaving the door open. As a result facing of neighboring flats caught the fire", - informed Bobylev.
At present moment fire is completely extinguished. As a result of fire 3 women and 4 men died, 5 people were injured. Firemen rescued 58 people from fire.
During fire extinguishing a woman jumped from 6-th floor. She fell to the snowdrift and was hospitalized with traumas.
The large number of victims can be explained by late report about the fire - the signal about ignition was received after fire spread over flats. Moreover, victims started to leave apartments on their own instead of waiting for firemen help.
At present moment investigators work on the place of incident.
