Meeting in behalf of Oleg Sherbinsky held in Vladivostok
A meeting in behalf of Altai driver Oleg Sherbinsky was held on central square of Vladivostok.
Sherbinsky was returned guilty of traffic accident, in which Altai governor Mikhail Evdokimov died, and was condemned to 4 years of imprisonment.
The meeting is initiated by right protective public organization "Freedom of Choice" within the frames of All-Russian action in support of Sherbinsky.
The action was held under slogan "For equal rights of all Russian citizens before law". Members of meeting were holding posters saying "Verdict of Sherbinsky - disgrace of Russian justice!", "Authorities returned guilty, court answered with imprisonment!", "Want not to be imprisoned - make way for official!".
Secretary of regional right protective organization "Anti-corrupt Coalition of Primorie" Vitaly Beregovsky noted that officials has become inviolable on Russian roads and ignore rules of the road. "Officials are to blame for traffic accidents and catastrophes. But judges condemn ordinary drivers", - emphasized he.
Participants of meeting demanded retrial of Sherbinsky case. In their opinion the verdict must be "not guilty".
After meeting participants drove with alight headlights along central street in support of Sherbinsky.
It is expected that analogous actions and meetings will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk.
Altai governor Evdokimov, his driver and guard died and a wife of regional head got serious injuries as a result of automobile crash on August 7 of last year. Passing "Mercedes" of the governor collided with "Toyota" at high speed. As a result of collision automobile of the governor drove down the highway and crashed into the tree.
Last Friday court of Altai krai returned the "Toyota" driver Oleg Sherbinsky guilty in violation of traffic rules, which has lead to death of 3 people and condemned him to 4 years of imprisonment in colony-settlement.
