Legendary hockey player Gennady Tsigankov died in St. Petersburg
The legendary hockey player honoured master of sports Gennady Tsigankov died in St. Petersburg, reported the press attachй of the city administration sport committee Oleg Vdovin. "Today in the morning legendary hockey player, the winner of two Olympic Games Tsigankov", he said.
Tsigankov was born in 1947. In 1966-1968 he played in SKA (Khabarovsk), in 1969-1980 - in CSKA, in 19980 - in SKA (Leningrad). Repeated champion of the USSR. He took part in 367 matches of the USSR championships, and scored 52 goals. He participated in 91 matches in world championships and Olympic games, and scored 10 goals.
Tsigankov was a participant of legendary series of matches between teams of the USSR and North American teams. Tsigankov was the first partner of Vyacheslav Fetisov in CSKA.
