Cardinal Roger Echegaray to arrive to Moscow
One of the most influential hierarch of Catholic church the cardinal Roger Echegaray will arrive to Moscow on Saturday for the participation in the celebrations on occasion of Name Day of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Aleksy II outlined on 24 February.
"This is the particular visit. Cardinal arrives to Name Day of the Holiest Patriarch" they informed in the Department of external church connections of Moscow patriarchy.
"It is known, that cardinal Echegaray has long ago been acquainted with patriarch Aleksy, he relates to him with the great sympathy and had long ago been going to arrive to Moscow to visit patriarch" noted the head of the information center of Catholic metropolis in Russia Victor Hrul. He remembered that cardinal Echegaray - the former President of Papal council "Validity and peace", the laureate of the international world prize.
"He repeatedly carried out the especially important commissions of the late Pope Hans Pavel II in different countries of the world. In particular, not long before the beginning of the military actions in Iraq the cardinal left for Baghdad hopeihg to avoid war" emphasized Hrul.
On 19 February cardinal Echegaray will perform the divine service in the Moscow Catholic cathedral.
